Micromax Mobiles have come up with something very different this time. Leaving behind the series of dual SIM QWERY handsets, they have announced the launch of a stunning 3G handset termed as Micromax Modu T. It is supposed to be world`s lightest 3G phone, weighing just 62.2 grams. Some other notable features of phone include a 5MP camera, GPRS, Bluetooth, Java support and come with BREW OS.

Micromax Modu Hardware Configuration

The bar styled handset comes with a 2.2 inch touchscreen display having a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.  It has a dimension of 75 x 46.5 x 11 mm. The length seems to be far too less, however the phone looks decent as a whole.
Micromax Modu has mainly focused on its camera part. The phone has a 5MP camera which allows you to take quality photographs. Other basic features like Music Player, Video Player and FM Radio is just like the one any normal handset. However, the music player supports MP3, AMR, MIDI and WAV files.
In terms of connectivity, the handset comes with GPRS, WAP, MMS, Bluetooth and 3G.  Sadly, the phone won`t satisfy the needs of people requiring WiFi.
Modu T is powered by a mere 500mAh Li-Ion battery which gives pretty less talk time. You will get approximately 3 hours of talk-time and around 8 days of standby time.
The handset comes with a 32GB expandable memory support, thus giving you ultimate liberty for storing photos, music files, movies etc.

Micromax Modu Software OS Platform

The handset comes with Qualcomm Brew OS, same as what HTC Smart possesses. In addition, the phone also has a Java support. Though Brew OS is not common, but still it`s apps and games are available online. There are few apps store opened by Qualcomm where you can find Brew apps.
For those who are uncomfortable with handling Brew OS, Java support is always there. You can easily download Java games and applications from web.
The phone comes with various social networking apps like Facebook, Twitter, Snaptu, Flickr, TuneWiki and Ebuddy. The handset also has Youtube, Google search widgets to provide you assistance while searching.

Micromax Modu Price and Availability

My Verdict
Overall, Micromax Modu seems to be a good composition of features. It even holds a Guinness World Record for being the lightest 3G phone. Well, I would have had liked had there been Android in place of Brew. Nevertheless, the phone is superb in all other departments.
